An Ontario parent shares her shocking story of learning that her 6 year old daughter is legally blind in one eye. She didn't show any signs of a vision problem. She shares her story and encourages other parents to have their children's eyes examined regularly by an optometrist.

Hi there, Thanks for the question. Legal blindness is defined as worse than or equal to 20/200 with best correction in the better eye or a visual field extent of less than 20 degrees in diameter (canadian definition from CNIB). We hope this answers your question.

Please define "Legally Blind" exactly. Is that she could not read the 20/200 line? Thanks for your reply.
