BIG STICK, DRAG RACING.mov
The duo's timeless classic hit. This ode to drag racing and the enchanting women who wear tube tops to the drags charted the top ten in the U.K. The song was one of about only one hundred records that were included in the late, great famed U.K. radio disc jockey John Peel's record box, a treasured collection of John Peel's favorite music. Peel claimed that in the event of a fire, this priceless box of records would be the most important thing to rescue besides himself and his family. This particular music video is featured on the BBC-TV program "John Peel's Record Box", an hour long program that documents the life and career of John Peel, it airs every year in conjunction with the esteemed U.K. Music Hall of Fame. DRAG RACING was also featured on hot rod artist extraordinaire Robert Williams' "Chrome Smoke & Fire" double LP picture-disc set. The Robert Williams picture-disc set is a hand picked compilation of Robert's all time favorite hot rodding tunes. The song also appears with "The Devil's Jukebox", a nifty 7" box-set collection that includes rare treasures from Big Stick and other artists from the Blast First/Mute Record's roster. Artists featured in the collection include label mates Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr. among others. It's also worth noting that the collection's title track "The Devil's Jukebox" was penned by BIG STICK.
Currently Big Stick are recording-- Recently having Fred Schneider of B-52s fame recording vocals on a track-- And having Johnny Kelly (Type O Negative, Danzig, Black Label Society) recording as a guest drummer.
