There is no commitment on the part of most Americans to the Iraq War. No commitment and no sacrifice. If we were not able to borrow the money for the war, it would be over tomorrow.

North Korea only pursued its nuclear weapons after the U.S. slightly lessened its sanctions and wouldn't deliver the materials required for it's new energy plants. They waited for three years for U.S. cooperation before saying that they'll continue re-building weapons. The Bushies cut off communication with them, and they went on to build nukes.

You think if we leave the terrorists will go, " they left, I guess they're nice people." No, they'll be emboldened by the weakness of the United States; more extremists will start attacks seeing the U.S. as weaklings. While we shouldn't have invaded, leaving will be disastrous. We must let the army figure out the way to streamline the war for maximum efficiency, so we can leave soon; they should do this outside politics.

So, we can reduce troops and get the UN involved; I disagree about insurgency: that's why amries have information warfare. We have to start providing the services required, start stepping up security and discipline. We leave and it'll be another Afghanistan. Things are definitely getting better; we should start pull-out not before another year maximum.

lastly no well established insurgency has ever lost a war in the history of mankind, because an Insurgency lasts forever due to the fact that it's ability to recruit citizens is perpetuated by the presence of the occupying force, the option is we can pull out now or stay for another 10 years and be faced with a messier, more catastrophic pullout then

another cost of going into Iraq is what I like to call opportunity cost, because we are in Iraq we now have less available troops to manage Afghanistan (which makes fighting the Taliban and Al Qaeda a lot harder, and it also makes it harder to put pressure on North Korea to disarm and to put pressure on Iran to discontinue their nuclear programs

our presence in Iraq is what is emboldening our enemies

the strengthening of anti American sentiment is making the job for terrorist recruiters easier

one example of this is the fact that before we went into Iraq Al Qaeda's presence in Iraq was next to non-Existent, now it is stronger than ever
