My late, mobbed-up Uncle caught a couple of looters in his store back in the 80s. He tied them to chairs in his basement & told them he was leaving the room & would return in 15m. They would both die, BUT one would get a bullet in the head, the other one in the stomach (instant death v. hours of agony bleeding out). When he returned, they were madly gabbling over themselves to tell him where their stash of stolen goods was!
He kept his promise, too! INCENTIVIZE people, & they will behave well!
