I want to be an mma fighter, but too much training causes cortisol I've heard, is there anything I can do? Eat more?

@johnny21 good luck man!

@smats42 thanks man, thats what iv'e ended up doing, with the tourney in a week, just maintained and going in at my natural wait, 'preciate the response.

@johnny21 compete at your natural weight. cutting weight is overrated. dont be concerned about weight classes, its not worth the trouble unless you are getting paid A LOT of money. if you are already in good shape, losing weight will only make you weaker. its WAY more important to max out your endurance, and MOST important to practice your technique and match strategy. just my opinion after years of grappling.
good luck!

Hello Lui, big fan of your videos. I seek your advice to weather or not I should cut or bulk for a jiu jitsu tournement comming in November. I have been bulking for 2 months and i weigh 166, and the weight class is a max of 163, or 174.5. It took forever to gain the 10 pounds of solid weight and not sure if i want to cut to 157, (the gi weighs 5 pounds) or add some more mass and fight at 174.5, I hope you respond, thanks!

@LRMMcDonnell the best form is completely dependent on what results youre looking for. as for it being dangerous, mostly only if you let your back lean forward and curve when youre trying to lift... that and if youre doing fast reps and slamming the weight down and not doing the up portion in a controlled speed.
