@skylilly1 Yeah, I didn't watch it for that reason as well. Snobs! Obviously blind snobs! Oscar nominations just aren't what they used to be. Back in the day, our heros won! Now, actors from movies I've never seen because I had absolutely no desire to see win, or even sometimes I've never heard of! It's ridiculous!
As for their argument about it being a children's flick and therefore unqualified, just google it and find out about how many Oscars went to the Wizard of Oz! Children's flick indeed!

You hav to look at it like this, Alan Rickman is a great actor but he had 7 movies to work on snape so it's not like he wasn't familiar with the character. He also had J.K. Rowling to consult if he needed. I think he was amazing in it but the others were just as amazing

What emotions did Snape/Rickman put us through in DH2? Think about it! He conveyed them all with passion, believability and professionally. He didn't just play a part, his character had at least 10 layers that he as an actor kept up with beautifully! I'm in awe of that alone, and that's why he should have been nominated. He executed his complex character in every single movie. That's why we love him and Snape. I'm not watching oscar tonight for that reason.
right now, i hate everyone of the judges! HE TOTALLY DESERVED THAT NOMINATION!!!!!!
