Joel Gersmann was a brilliant, prolific playwright-director (writing over 60 plays) who ran and worked at Broom Street Theatre (not on Broom Street) in Madison, Wisconsin. I worked with Joel on over forty shows as a lighting designer, actor and videographer. The first part consists of of Joel's pre-show announcements. the rest, clips from shows. Produced for a memorial exhibition about Joel held at Broom Street Theatre in 2005.
How neat! Thanks for sharing these videos. Joel is my uncle. He had such a gut-busting, irreverent sense of humor. I miss him.

@TwinWasp2000 I miss him too. I certainly have regrets with us not working together at the end of his life. I hope to have a longer version or different film about him at some time. Dan Levin is close to or has finished a film about him. Say hello to your mother from me.

Hey DW, why don't you upload that nice version of THE GRANT you shot? Plus all the others? Create a youtube channel to connect to the Broom street theater channel? Or sell me a copy and I'll do it...Hope you are well...:)

Hey Gene
Good to hear from you. Sorry I took so long to reply. I'd like to put out some of Joel's plays on the web. I'm not sure that "The Grant" in 13 or more parts on Youtube is the best venue. Since I've upgraded my Vegas software I can generate mp4 files and that's a lot faster to upload than a mp2. I've wanted to do a longer version of Joel Gersmann, Joel Gersmann. It was made for the memorial exhibition at the theater for Joel. They wanted 15 minutes but got a piece that was about 22.
