Cal Poly senior midfielder Kyle Montgomery was taken down by UC Santa Barbara sophomore defender Peter Schmetz with 44 seconds remaining and Mustang senior center back Patrick Sigler converted the penalty kick for a 2-1 victory Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, in Alex G. Spanos Stadium. Many in the crowd of 11,075 stormed the field after the final horn sounded.
