Having come across a lot of bad remixes (simply 'dumping' one track on top of another) I came up with the idea of trying to intelligently remix a speech. An obvious choice was Barack Obama's inspiring Inauguration Speech.

(This remix is not intended to portray any personal political viewpoint and it's manipulation is not intended to present any slanderous opinion).

As you'll hear I have initially set about manipulating the timing of the speech's audio in order to fit rhythmically.

I then explored the possibility of manipulating the pitch of Obama's voice so that it fitted harmonically, with the backing composed around the general patterns of speech.

With both rhythm and pitch I have tried to stick as closely as possible to the original to try to keep a natural sound.

  • This is epic! I love Obama, and his speeches are just meant to be musical. Great job!

  • Cheers, please send to your friends!

  • This is rather good! Markwhite1980: Did you create the backing from scratch?

  • all empty words

  • @fistjedi That's the only good thing. LOL

  • @greengringo2003 Theft of freedom? I do believe we had WAAAAY more theft of freedom under Bush. Patriot Act anyone??? Aiport security anyone??? hmm... okay, so we had an ugly face that sucked at reading and speaking, but he was ok because... we like business as usual in DC, right?

  • @liggettusa This is a democracy, and the country is not run by one man. Better yet, blame the unethical men and women in the finance sector who took too many risks and speculated too much on the housing market. Do your homework before you try to blame someone. However, placing blame does no good. What does it help? Nothing. Is placing blame going to get the country back on track? No. Is placing blame going to help me get a job? No. So what is the point?

  • @liggettusa Just as no one can prevent a downturn from happening, no one can make the unemployment rate rise (unless you’re Google or WalMart and you fire, literally, all of your employees). When things turn negative, when losses start happening, that is when things get bad, and when people like you try to blame one person who has less power than everyone likes to think he has. If you want to blame anyone for not taking action, blame your congress men and women.

  • @liggettusa this particular cycle, GDP stopped increasing, started decreasing, and then turned negative for eight quarters. That is what is considered a recession. So of course Obama has to take on this huge burden (whether it was thanks to Bush or not) knowing that the worst is yet to come, and that not even he could prevent it. The only thing that can be done is to try to relieve the situation by aiding those who are affected negatively by it.

  • @liggettusa These are natural occurrences of the free market, and though everyone would like for them not to happen, there is no way to prevent them from happening. So once the downturn began, of course it would get worse. Luckily for Bush, he was on his way out. Even if he could have been elected to a third term, he wouldn't have wanted to, knowing what was coming. When you have a downturn in the business cycle, its lowest point is called a trough.

  • @liggettusa You didn't even bother to mention what your % numbers are referring to. One can speculate that you meant unemployment. In that case, you are demonstrating that you know nothing about how downturns in the business cycle work, let alone how recessions work. Of course unemployment was higher under Obama than under Bush. This is because the downturn BEGAN under Bush. No one can "stop" a downturn or "prevent" a recession.

  • Mate u gotta be a star!! This is awesome!

  • @roserama87 HAHAHAHAAA, OMG, It must have taken you forever to string all those words together into a complete thought. Good for you Rosa :)
