It was a good try ! But the combination of Jane Austen life and the Mansfield Park novel is very strange....

@dolphinrider22 The guy that decided to put on the play in the first place...and the one who abandoned Thomas when he was ill, Nice enough chap I'm sure.

I always wondered if this novel was in any way inspired by an experience in Jane's life..

I love this version of Mansfield Park!
And I wish like most Woman, that there were more Edmond's in the world today

this is a good movie if you can forget about the book and just watch as its own story. the characters have completely different personalities from the book but very watchable.
I can't appreciate this as an adaptation of Jane Austen's Mansfield Park, but I do like it as its own story of Fanny and Edmund

That was the most WTF-iest adaptation I've ever seen. Thanks for posting...and I suppose that it was mostly entertaining if you didn't think of it as an adaptation of Mansfield Park....but my goodness. I appreciated the little shout-outs to Jane Austen's life, like the History of England and some of her quotes and things, but I wish they hadn't completely changed Fanny's character. As a shy girl, I kind of liked having a heroine who was quiet and passive and patient, yet strong on the inside.
