For older African-Americans who experienced the dark era of racial segregation in America, the election of Barack Obama represents an achievement that many did not even dare dream of. VOA's Siri Nyrop visited a church here in Washington where parishioners are celebrating the end of a very long journey.

  • @mrhonkee im glad im black :)

  • @RetardStudios3 we need cheech and chong up in that muthafucka......

  • @mrhonkee Be proud of who you are, there's not another you in the world. Your ethnicity won't change that.

  • @sassymilf420 I know how you feel, some black people have been going crazy these days as well, especially new black panthers. But I don't say "oh they're making my race look bad" because they aren't me. Just gotta be strong through these hard times, I think these rising conflicts are for the better and well get out of it. Then we can focus on real problems, rather than generalizations. Power to the people and shit.

  • I wish I was black...

  • get all bigots of all races together who wanna keep the hate alive and enslave these trouble makers forever so our land could be free and peaceful with a light shinning again its really dark outside with all this hatred and yes at times i'm ashamed to be white i just wanna crawl outta my skin

  • @Tulisa7

s africa has turned into a cesspool

  • @TrustYouNot why? when the whites are the ones who kicked the blacks out of their own country but mandella to prison and you say they should have their equal rights? blacks NEVER done any of that to whites in US or UK so blacks were treated badly for no reason. so whatever happening in south africa the whites DESERVE, i'am half south african and the whites were still races even in a black country... they are selfish people (obviouly not all) and its not fear for them to have equal rights there

  • @Retardstudios3 Never
