Short video of top water action around the Montauk Light House. Fall fishing in Montauk offers awesome sights and awesome fishing. This video doesn't do justice to what we experienced.

  • @Winkiedoodles Cool if you can post some of that action it would be cool!

  • @albieonthefly Thanks. I figured they were probably baitfish with the predators both underneath and also in the air. We have a similar freshwater phenomenon when bass start "busting" shad balls in the fall, but no where near as dramatic as the footage you filmed. Best wishes.

  • @Winkiedoodles Gulls and terns take advantage of the chaos the bass, bluefish and albies cause on the bait balls to pickup an easy meal. These are mostly small baits that will spray in the air when fish charge them. Sometimes later in the season we get herring and you can see gannets diving to pick at them.

  • Very beautiful video. Were people fishing for the fish the birds were trying to catch or were those baitfish and the real fish were underneath?
