As long you have 1 million NK soldiers along the DMZ with 50,000 soft forces already embedded in SK. I think the U.S. we'll be there FOREVER. We so useles... I know, Ex-president Clinton talking to Kim Jung Il for the reporters release and opening new talks with the 5 nations again, US so useless;-)

That is what US and NK to negotiate. Not Japan issue. What we can do to counter NK is to normalize with them or arm ourselves with nukes. I would choose former. That is most realistic way. US presence doesn't work any way. US-Japan treaty was to counter Soviet Union. Russians withdrew troops from far east. China has some old version weapons and has become your biggest financial sponsor. The situation has changed so it is time to CHANGE whole thing.

Actually that is central government to decide. I don't know how they will negotiate. Former ruling party were never interested in this issue and some of them were rumored to be tied with constructors.. The point is reducing military is good for your country to mitigate poverty in your country. Think of your own people who are desperately to see a doctor or get college education rather than defense of our nation.

Wow, I can't believe I'm agreeing with you on this. There's too many military presense in Okinawa. Moving the 8000 Marines to Guam is a good move however, getting rid of Futenma, I would like to see the new DPJ handles this one.

I've heard that theory wasn't true. It was a rumor made by some journalists. It was due to mishandling of the local government. I am not saying our military is perfect but US isn't in Japan to help us. Until Soviet exists, it worked as deterrent but not any more. So it is time to leave.

When classified information is distributed without proper classification to people or in this case students without proper security clearances. That my friend is a security violation or comprimised. Your Air Force and Navy Fleets can't operate independent from the U.S. Military unless your country changes it's constitution. However, your military act as force multiplier which is good since your military is in a self-defense posture. If the US leaves Japan, you and I will be dead by then.

Yes it is time to change constitution, I agree. When US leaves Japan, people can realize the need to change the constitution. That is good. Self-defense posture is good enough because we are not invaders.

Aegis or airfighters are not the only weapons. In fact our military is not deployed for invasion like your country. Just to defend the terriotory. Whether your presense is here or not, that is what we have to do anyway. As long as we don't trust you. We can no longer rely on you.

I agree with you on this one, thanks to Bush, the invasion of Iraq was wrong on so many levels, can't blame you there. However, your navy ships were deployed in the Indian Ocean refueling US ships fighting the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Ain't that supporting our invasion...

Surprised to know you think it was wrong. Refueling in Afghan would be halted in January I heard. That is what new goverment decided. I am not very critical of Afghan attack but war in Iraq was wrong. Actually Japan helped your country for that by sending troops to Samawa, Iraq. That was wrong decision I think.
