your georgie is sooooo sweeeeet! The two of you seem to have a wonderful symbiosis that I hope will have with my quaker. Wow!

@eyepatchinc Birds in general hardly ever make good pets, they're more like companions, and if you get a macaw they're like children. Even a well trained bird will bite every once in a while. The only possible downside to taking in a rescued bird would be building a good relationship with it and training it from there.

@birdlady423 hey Linda not trying to ruffle any feathers :) ..but in my experience, rescues often don't make good pets. They've been neglected and poorly trained, if trained at all. No one wants a pet that bites, goes on the floor, etc. It's sad and I dunno that there is a solution, because it's not the animal's fault. But birds especially get stuck in their habits and it can be hard to train an adult set in his ways.

Please rescue instead of buying from a pet store. There are 400 rescue centers with displaced birds. Watch my video: "Macaw Betty in Parakeet Cage 17 Years" and you will be inspired to save a bird from abuse or neglect.
