@thebuckrogers22 what I think what happened about that episode is that secretly he just servived the big explosion thing..As is known to the comic Lex has servived threw death about many things..I'm just voicing my opion here..

i am so glad lex is alive. they revealed it in season 9. i had a feeling he was still alive. either someone will go back in time with the legion ring, he somehow escaped from being blown up, he is cloned or the person who died in the car was a clone. or maybe genetically altered.
