That and the fact the average length of each song is 10 minutes. Progressive music is strange and experimental by nature, it's music for intellectuals.

i love how weird the mars volta makes me feel. that's why i think a lot of people are turned off by them. they make you feel distress, panic, anxiety, etc. and i think that's awesome.

@theelostriots9999 I think theyre returning to At the Drive In's punk sound. or at least, the VAYA ep where they started fusing trippy effects with their sound. From what i gather this album might sound like a more mellow De-Loused.
