Anti-Mormon Bigotry

The Church holds its biannual General Conference twice a year in Salt Lake City. Many Mormons travel from distant lands to Salt Lake on a sort of spiritual pilgrimage, excited to listen to sermons by Church leaders. This pilgrimage is often interrupted by the screams of "street preachers" informing Mormon participants that they are going to go to hell. This video, compiled from other sources, illustrates the extent of the bigotry these pilgrims face.

How would a Muslim feel if this kind of bigotry manifest itself at Mecca? How would the Jew feel if a "street preacher" like this decided to visit the Wailing Wall?

To all Mormons, as a born-again evangelical Christian that loves Jesus Christ and loves Mormons very much, I want to apologize for this disrespectful and unloving representation of the gospel of Jesus Christ.. Not to worry, Drooblemeister. Most Mormons recognize that these people do not speak for all Evangelicals. Most of us have Evangelical friends. It is alarming to us, though, as it is to you, the number of so-called Christians that seem to reject Christ's core teachings. Most Evangelicals are not like these crazy street preachers, but these preachers are also hardly acting alone. We should all work against this kind of bigotry. God bless.

It is very sad to see such intolerance to a people who strive to love and become better. You don't see Mormons gathering to others religious meetings and bashing them. We respect others and there beliefs. The fact is its only going to become worse. To live not in the world but in Christ is to be mocked and scourned. But truly it only builds my testimony for the church because the adversary will pull out all his arsenal against the Lords true church. And the adversaries arsenal is not of peace.

I just find it sad that in this day and age with all the history that is behind the human race as well as America specifically that this kind of thing goes on. At what point do we learn to show respect and love for our fellowman? To disagree and share our opinions/beliefs without attacking, mocking, or making light of things that others hold dear? What good do these people think this kind of behavior accomplishes? The world is in such great need of Christ and applying his teachings.

I know im not a "walking sissy." I would like to meet the main character of this movie because where I come from we don't back down. I am currently an enlisted member of the military. I am a proud mormon but I am not perfect and I don't judge other religions because it is not right. I just usually laugh when I watch these clips on youtube because most of the time the anti-mormons are being influenced by the devil to preach their slander when our lord would want us to be kind to each other.
