as a Gen-X Episcopal priest I already own the books (Un)Christian and They Like Jesus but not The Church. Sounds like you've created an interesting book to contribute to the conversation around how we're (mis)perceived and how to be relevant to the issues and questions faced by new generations. Will have to consider a purchase. :)
A recent statistic has shown that the percentage of Christians in American has only declined from about 86% to 72% over the course of 3 decades. You lose a few of percents of people a year who begin to think outside the Bible box and suddenly you feel compelled to write a whole book to oppose it? You people have one-third of the planet under wraps, and that's one-third too many in my opinion.
Er... you know that Christianity has caused 809,000,000 deaths through out history, right? That's more than islam, Judaism, and any other religion combined.
And don't bring Stalin or Hitler into the argument >_> Stalin was a Russian Orthodox priest before he left the church for its hypocrisy. Hitler was roman catholic, he got the eugenics cleansing idea from the American Eugenics Society mostly pushed by christians. just google pastor Kenneth C. MacArthur.
Adam, I for one agree with the things you said. I'm a Minister myself, and always think about why is it, that Christianity has missed the mark. I always say, if you help people start a real relationship with God, and fall in love with him, the love that person feels towards him will make them want to change, and do better. Great job!!!!!!! I'm getting the book.........
Adam, you need to read Revelations - there is a second resurrection in which people who were not called - will have a chance to accept Christ as their savior - not burn in eternal torment.
Isn't that like saying, love the murderer, and be OK with his crime. Shouldn't the murderer turn away from his crime? The same with us who are followers of JESUS, we turn from our old selves.
You seem to have a real hangup about the gay thing. Are you creeping out of the closet yourself? Is that what you're saying here? Call it what it is...sin. Love the sinner, yes. Tolerate the sin? Ask God if He tolerates it.

Adam:
"You're going to hate the way I love my partner."
