It's too noble... and a little wooden. The Ian Mckellen version had more humanity, insanity, and genuine emotion to it. In my humble opinion, it's not mad enough. You can't feel Lear's pain at all... it's all a little Hollywood. Not for me. A good production none the less.
Nobody ever acted out Shakespeare like Olivier.
