@MrThreshold2009 -JL could've sat in with Zeppelin or The Who as a Saturday job for pocket money- But he had a real job with Can

My arms are bruning just from listening to this.
Whoa.

@gwrang what do you mean, heaps of their songs are solos!
-
Geez, this quiet little guy behind a basic drum set sounds like an entire marching band drum line. Incredible.

Jaki Liebezeit: The human drum machine.

@Ambulanceo rhythms are melodies. drums are a melodic instrument

Am I crazy or are the drums the main instrument in most of Can's music? I'd say the "melody" but of course that doesn't apply to drums, but it kinda fits in like that.

I love this, proof that Jaki could/can (Can) rock the fuck out!! Really outside of Can's style.
Jaki played this solo to bridge a power blackout during a CAN concert in Brussels on 9th of January 1976, that's why the crowd can be heard so loudly!
I don't think CAN members normally played any solos, but I saw kind of a Jaki solo towards the end of the bands history in 1977. CAN actually published their only live album from bootleged fan recordings, so the copyright issue here is not very relevant.
