This is a test run of my 2nd gamma Stirling engine after replacing the brass power piston with a graphite piston. This is a work in progress. I still need to clean up many of my tooling marks.

  • A tesla turbine pump could be powered by the stirling itself.Perhaps pump the water up higher and let it free fall and air-cool back down to the water chamber.

  • @studioLivingDead I would like my next engine to power its own water pump. Unfortunately, I don't think this engine has enough power to run its own pump. I'll take a look at Tesla turbines, thanks.

  • Cool!

How hot does the water get?

  • @VBioreactorBydlo I don't remember the exact measurement and run times, but I would say around 85 degrees after five to ten minutes of run time. I remember being surprised how quickly the water heated up.

  • What is doing the work to pump the water through your heat exchanger?

  • A small aquarium pump sitting in the bottom of the bucket.
