In this part we see the crowds enjoying the stalls on the Esplanade. Classic cars are on display from the Minehead Motor Club. .Professor Popcorn is entertaining the children. and we walk over to the old harbour walls. We see the old Mineral line station building now converted to apartments and see the remains of the railway lines which carried iron ore to the docks for transportation to South Wales for processing.

  • Can't believe I missed these three films Mike. Very good. The shot back along the pier at the 7 minute mark, it looks like the tracks continue underneath the concrete. Wouldn't it be interesting to see if they did?. All the best ....Tim.

  • @siobhan104 It is believed they are still there and right back into the corner of the yard where full wagons of iron ore were stored, waiting for ships.I have seen an old photo showing a steam crane there also and piles of coal and wood. Also surplus stone ballast from ships.

  • Great vid

  • @dtremzo Thank you for your kind comment!

  • @robmasterman Thanks Bob. Watchet and South Wales must have been much less photogenic when the Iron Ore trade was flourishing! I have seen old photos of loads of coal piled high, from the returning ships. But that is what payed for progress!

  • You're a great ambassador for Somerset Mike, beautiful images so professionally captured...and a joy to watch.....Bob

  • You sure are right about the great music from all of the Eastcoast of Canada.

  • @togreektown Thanks Wayne. I remember some of the names you mention from the days of my youth! Prince Edward Island, for example, I seem to have an association in my mind with some great music.
