Dave Lefkowitz: Founder of Amnesty International's Southern Oregon chapter, Dave is a World Studies teacher at South Medford High School and a presenter with OLLI on non-violent movements. A graduate in Natural Forest Management, Dave served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Niger, West Africa, then as a World Bank consultant, and a lawyer for 15 years -- involved primarily in representing workers, workers' rights, discrimination, and pro bono immigration assistance. Amnesty International (AI) is 50 years old, in over 150 countries, the world's largest grassroots human rights organization, and winner of the 1977 Nobel Peace Prize.
