BROCKTON — Search dogs looking for clues in the disappearance of a teenage girl 19 years ago alerted to a spot near the Howard Street bridge on Sunday.
The search dogs from the Connecticut Canine Search and Rescue examined the area as part of a volunteer effort through the Molly Bish Foundation to find Jennifer Fay, a Brockton teen who went missing in 1989.
Two search dogs trained to find human remains indicated separately there may be something buried in the same spot near the bridge, at the junction of Howard and North Montello streets on the north end of the city, said Philip White, part of the team of private investigators trying to learn what happened to the teen.
State police investigators were at the scene Monday to look at the area again. Another search is expected to be done at an undisclosed date and time.
State police Lt. Paul DAmore, assigned to the Plymouth County district attorneys office, declined to detail what investigators will do next. We will take the appropriate action, he said.
