Obama: http://www.heritage.org/Research/HealthCare/bg2197.cfm

McCain: http://www.heritage.org/Research/HealthCare/bg2198.cfm

Here are three things to know about the candidates' health care plans:

1) McCain wants to give individuals and families control over health care decisions. Obama wants the government to control health care decisions.

2) McCain wants to expand health care options. Obama wants to limit health care options.

3) Both candidates want to improve quality and lower the cost of health care, but they have different ideas on how to get there.

  • Health care should not be considered a handout like you put it ... it should be considered a right for every single American in this country ... health care should NOT BE ABOUT profit ... selling products should be about profit , your health and my health SHOULD NOT .... you talk about hand outs then lets talk about Wall Street ... lets talk about the car companies , lets talk about the Banks ... your point about hand outs makes no sense when we just handed these rich bastards 900 billion

  • McCain's plan is hoping that corporate health insurance providers are *MOTIVATED* to pay out for expensive incidents regardless of cost or ability of the individual to pay. He's hoping that there is some market based equation in which that somehow happens.

Obama's plan limits options in the sense of providing this necessary equation outside of business interests. (I.e., removing options that don't work anyways.)

The heritage foundation hasn't gotten any better since I last checked in on you.

  • Conservative: “I really hate having my hard-earned money taken from me to pay taxes that go to the poor and unemployed. I could have used that money to buy a brand new car!” Liberal: “Typical greedy-Conservative! No Compassion! Sorry, you’re going to have to forego this year’s brand new car to do something good for once, like help the needy.” Unemployed Assembly Worker: “I wish people would just start buying new cars so I could get of these welfare checks and get my old job back!"

  • this video is totally wrong

  • @funkyflights

The Democrat Representatives and Senators are responsible for the 2,000 pages ....

That is what they are pushing.

  • The bill can be one page.... Single payer medicare for all Americans.... it would leave NO ONE BEHIND and all Americans would be covered.... This current bill was written by the insurance companies... it's outrages.. and NOW there trying to water down the public option which was already watered down.... The insurance companies will be smiling from ear to ear if the democrats don't toughen up very quickly....

  • @funkyflights

sure, there are problems, but why address them with a 2,000 page bill? why not just do it bit by bit ... address pre-existing conditions as one bill ... it would easily pass ...

... why? why wont democrats do that? I think because they want to ram this down the American people's throats simply because they are obsessed with power. It's not going to work w/o the support of citizens, and it does not have support of over half of citizens.

It wont work you will see.

  • What about madatory health insurance.. unconstitutional.. you never mentioned this.Obama lied he said he was against mandatory health insurance.

  • and we need that hope!

  • Look man just admit the current system has failed... insurance companies have to much say and to much power over our health care... we've seen first hand what happens when we allow to much control... Banks ... Stock Market ... Oil companies... how many more lessons do we need... health insurance companies are excluding people because of pre existing conditions and also finding reasons to not pay in your time of need.... wake up dude before it happens to you .... then your gonna regret it

  • Why are you avoiding the issue? The issue in this post is health care, period. No where in the constitution will you find that health care is "Right". Hence, I disagree with you furthermore, I repeat myself once more it's a privilege and nothing more.
