Editing objects, changing color on all sides, then just one

right click on the object.
choose edit button from the pie menu.
go to the texture tab in the build tool box.
Click on color box.
Use color picker to select color.
Hit select.
To change just one side of the prim's color, click on Select Texture in the build tool box.
Then left click on one side of the prim.
Now open the color picker again and choose color, then hit select
