Who owns that Ju52? The first time I see one in Luftwaffe colours. In Germany the remaining ones are Lufthansa.

I googled a but and it seems to be owned by a French organisation called Amicale Jean-Baptiste Salis. Quote...

"The Amicale Jean-Baptiste Salis (AJBS), named after its founder (1896-1967), rebuilds and puts on display, in flight or on ground, some aircraft now belonging to the world heritage of flying machines.

What an iconic and in many was brilliant work horse, I thought, based on the fact that if you follow the lines of a cross section of the nose of the JU-52 which clearly appear to lead to a nice clean aero-dynamic point, that it was not powerful enough using two wing mounted engines alone and basically had to bolt a third onto the nose. I was wrong, despite the nose engine looking like a later rushed quick fix to underpower, the JU-52 was originally designed to be powered by just the one engine!!

Actually, thats a Ju 52-3m NOT a Ju 52.

The Ju 52 was a much older single engined design that Junkers improved by adding two engines hence the addition of 3m, standing for 3 motoren, German for 3 engined!

But most people just call it the Ju 52
