  • Chivas 12 past the test.... now moving on to a strathisla 12.... wish me luck :)

  • @idioot1234 We think you should be OK :-) But good luck anyway. The SMTV Team. Cheers....have one for us.

  • Hello again SingleMaltTv. Thanks for recommending Strathisla 12. I just tried it a couple of days ago, and I was very impressed. The finish of the whiskey is one of my favorites. I just love that oily buttery toffee finish. You were right, much better than Chivas 12. But I would not compare it to Chivas 18, and the reason is, you cant really compare a 12 to an 18 year old. I hope Chivas Brothers comes out with an 18 year old variant of Strathisla. Strathisla is a hard one to find in the U.S.

  • @wesleytaylorviadomus Sounds like you had an enjoyable dram...excellent. Let us know when you are opening the bottle next and we will all come and help you polish it off :-) Cheers.

  • Hi SingleMaltTv I have a question for you. The Strathisla 12 is about $50. Is it really worth it. Is it as smooth as Chivas 18. What are the nose taste and finish of the Mail? is it miles better than Chivas 12. Ralfy from ralfy.com recommended this malt, along with Auchentason 12. Last question: is it as smooth or smoother than Auchentaushon 12? Thanks W.T.

  • @wesleytaylorviadomus Good morning. We ran yor question by Andrew Rankin, Operations Director and Chief Blender for Morrison-Bowmore, his comments below.

"My own ( very biased view ) is that because of our ‘ unique ‘ Triple Distillation & Top notch wood & maturation policy – Auchentoshan will be a smoother & richer tasting drinking whisky – feel free to refer them to our Web site"

We are awaiting a reply from Charlie MacLean.

    Cheers.

  • @wesleytaylorviadomus Sorry for the delay answering this, we just found your comment. Have passed it on to Charlie for his thoughts. Cheers.

  • We are looking into doing the Royal Salute range. Thank you for the suggestion and your comments.

  • @applevalleyjoe I think you can only buy the jug from the shop at Strathisla.
