In a truly historic night for the Orlando Magic, they broke numerous records in a high-scoring rout of the Sacramento Kings, shooting an insane 23 of 37 from three-point range, shooting a staggering 62 percent.

The records they broke on that night include:

NBA record for threes in a game (23)
Franchise record for threes in a game (23)
Kings opponent record for threes in a game (23)
Franchise record for points in a first half (75)
Kings opponent record for points in a half (75)
NBA record for threes in a half (13)
Franchise record for threes in a half (13)
Kings opponent record for threes in a half (13)

And they might have set a new record for most players on one team making at least one three-point field-goal (9)

David Steele and Matt Goukas with the call.

  • what does howard have to do with the threes

  • @xviperzero - Because his dunk over Hawes was awesome, and his dunk in the first half marked the most points the Magic ever scored in a half. So, while he didn't hit any threes, he played a large part in this game.

  • Turkoglu is always in nba 3points records eg. Suns 22 3points vs lakers

  • @ngwscracth No actually Jason Richardson didn't get traded to the Magic until December 18, 2010. This is January 13 2009. Jeremy Richardson joined the Magic at the start of the 2008 season and he stayed in Orlando until August 2009, when he joined Greek League club Aris Thessaloniki. - Fail.

  • @nookiezolyd jrich was in both games also

  • dropping bombs like the...t_l_b_n

  • Seemed like the Magic had a great night!

  • Stan Van Gundy's happy!

  • @xviperzero shooters shoot like this bcoz they the center attracts defenders inside, leaving the outside open for shots. moreover, with a center like dwight howard, even if a shot misses there is a good chance of getting an offensive rebound under the basket. the best way to stop a team like this is to stop the center with another strong center and get rebounds. den the shooters will not only be guarded better, but will also hesitate taking a low percentage shot.

  • @xviperzero Howard plays a big part of why Orlando hits so many 3s, He is the best C in the league so opposing teams will double team him leaving players like Turkoglu, J-Rich, Redick open for 3.

  • 139-102 holy shit 37 point win for the magic
