Between The Edge and Charlie, I must take Charlie! Between Mullen & Gaynor, I must take Gaynor!! Between Bono & Kerr, I must take Kerr!!! Mick is on a plane all his own!!!! Somehow, Simple Mind's have a sound with great depth and soundscapes which no other band could quite match. Though, Mick said..."I recall U2, and suddenly they went into high gear..." Yet the art of the Mind's is still unsurpassed in its adrenaline and euphoria inducing elements.

I was there and remember it like it was yesterday. I can still remember how they announced "Tina Turner" - it turned out to be Lenny Henry in drag! We knew there was going to be a special guest and a short time later they announced Michael Jackson. I personally left the floor by about two feet and was screaming. Yep, it was Lenny again........

@gezburnz new gold dream,sons and facination, street fighting years, sparkle in the rain more than matches the albums u just mentioned of u2's ! ok fair enough u2 are a behemoth of a band but musically simple minds are far superior i really do think you need to listen to the simple minds albums i just mentioned to see how diverse the minds were ! i think you will find that simple minds were doing (pop) 15 years before u2 ever thought of it and without the help of eno and flood the dj lol

@cadburyenglishman altough technically simple minds are better musicians, u2 are a far superior band- in every aspect. And history will show that u2 surpassed simple minds- this was acheived by a far, far bigger fan base and masterpiece albums such as "the joshua tree" "achtung baby" and "all that you cant leave behind". Personally i love the "pop" album which shows just how diverse and experimental u2 can be and still are. Dont get me wrong, i love simple minds aswell. Amazing band also.

Agreed, at least Simple Minds don't hide 2 additional guitarists and a keyboard player in booths under the stage in a pathetically arrogant attempt to fool silly people into thinking "Wow it sounds like the edge is playing all 3 guitar lines at the same time! I wonder how he does that?"

Addressing Nigelxman:

U2 have 3 great songs "Miss Sarajevo", "One" and "Stuck In a Moment"

Simple Minds have many more.

(Nigelxman) your comment stinks. bono is big headed and all mouth. jim kerr isn't seen both u2 and simplemind loads of times now and simpleminds are a far far better live band than u2 could ever be allways came out a simpleminds gig on a high on diffrence is simplminds never get the recognition they deserve
