Jumps racing just got even more dangerous. 7 people are now hospitalised after a horrific accident at Warrnambool today that saw Banna Strand jump a fence and crash into a crowd of punters. http://AnimalsAustralia.org

This video contains strobing effects.

  • Time alone will bring about the change we seek, but how many more of these magificent animals have to die before that change is manifest?? Does it take injury and worse to humans and children before we take it seriously?????

  • The deaths incurred by the horses and the injuries to the humans should never occur. Ban Jumps Racing/Steeplechasing in Australia immediately.

  • It's not that the horses can easily jump the jumps or that the jockeys don't learn how to jump them properly it's that the horses are going too fast, they're not on the right lead. Yes the horses could jump them easily but they're going way too fast, it's hard for them. . . This just needs to be banned all together. . . It's horrible and cruel.

  • I think the horses can jump these jumps. (sorry for my bad english i'm from germany x) ) But the riders are too lazy, to learn jumping with these horses :/

  • @holzdweaver Oh and just in case you think its questionable, look for yourself at the BHIC and MerseysideAnimalRights website. oh and just another fun fact to throw in here, did you know that Racing provides 20,000 direct full time jobs and supports a further 70,000 indirect

full-time jobs. You going to employ some of those people who would lose their jobs? Dont think so...

  • @weesophz93 Research? Ok...

Around 375 horses die on racecourses in Britain each year

5,000 horses enter the racing industry each year

18,000 foals are bred for racing each year

There are approximately 1,500 race meetings held annually at Britain’s 60 racecourses, with over 90,000 runners competing in some 9,000 races.

So yes as i said, a very small percentage.

  • @holzdweaver small percentage? do your research.

  • To all those people who want to ban horse racing because of the deaths of a very small percentage of the racing horses, please take a moment to think just how many thousands of horses will be shot on the spot if jumps racing is banned. Why not try and make the sport safer for the horses instead?

  • Its amazing how the lady with the tan jacket never seemed to notice. She just kept watching the race. My horse use to be a race horse but his owners stoped him from racing because they said he didnt like it. He still loves to run but he also loves jumping.

  • What a shitty sport. Fucking people and their sick shit. I am sure there are some politicians that enjoy this crap that will never ban it.

I lost a little respect for Australia after learning about this.

  • Think about it, if a horse didn't want to do it could a human REALLY MAKE them do it? Think about how much a horse weighs and how much a human weighs. Horses can easily overpower humans if they want to.

Before you complain, these horses ARE treated humanely, infact these horses are worth so much money they get the best treatment. Better then most 'pet' horses!

  • They dont hide it, they block it off to be humaine. Stupid protesters.
