hi

just wondered how easy your xt is to kick off.

im having trouble with mine as it occasionaly back fires and nearly breakes you ankle if you catch it wrong.

i put a manual lever,de compressor on it wich has deffinatly helped reduce the kick back.

What type you got? All XT's got decompressor as standard if you ask me. Only the 500 has a manual one, mine has an automatic and works fine.

BTW. if its backfiring i'm guessing you have a 500 in need of ignition refurbishment (or fiddle with it). 550 and up have electronic cdi.

I finally got a camera mount, trouwens wat doe ik, je bent Nederlands.

Ik heb een cameramount dus ik zal nu echt wanneer het mooi weer is een filmpje maken.

@estevandani when you get ready to kick it off, turn the fuel on and the choke, then kick it over slowly until it gets to top dead center then let the kick come all the way up and kick it hard and it should start right up

I bought my xt550 from my friends dad who bought it new. Picked it up for $500 needed tires fork seals and a new tank. $1000 into it and it's one of the funnest bikes I've ever owned. This winter I put Yamaha Raptor 660 carbs jetted for my engine on it and disk brakes up front. I'll probably never get rid of it now.

Nice bikes, i have a xt 550 and i cant get it started anymore, i dont think its getting spark. Any ideas?

hi no its a 550 it had auto decompress from a cable from the kickstart,but the od time it failed to de compress so i put a manual lever on it.

i have also fitted an o ring in the choke slide wich has helped as i think it was drawing a little air.
