@XXShootmedownXX Different rhythms and movements go into each. Tap is mostly syncopated while clogging has many downbeat rhythms. Tap is also usually more lyrical in its presentation while clogging is presented in a looser more social manner.
Modern clogging has been influenced by several different dance styles througout the years. The "cramp roll" both dancers exectue would be a good example of the tap influence. However, the dancers' steps are executed in 8 count rythms on the down beat which would be the main difference between clogging and tap.
these guys are good, but they are doing much more tap stuff than clogging from the old days..Not complaining, as I do both, but clogging used to be different..Depending on what you did, flatfooting for instance is very low to the ground with a constant, solid heel beat..Buck dancing used to be heel-toe variations, somewhat what these guys are doing a great job of..Don't know if I'm making sense but there is a difference, maybe I'm just not saying it right..
I have the same shirt as dancer number 496 :) I Miss beach jam!
