@don312000 You missed the pilot of X-15 Flight 3-65-97, even so X-15 have no ability to reach first orbital speed, US claims that all its pilots are astronauts cause they reached the 100km altitude.

@fictivisionDV you cant say that since it didn't really fly any missions. if russians took care of their things maybe it would still be flying. they didnt maintain their hanger and thats why it collapsed on top of it
