It bothers me that Whoopie said that "retard" isn't the same as the n-word. It IS the same.
-
You know...Whoopi should be the last one to talk considering her outrageously offensive stand up skits in the past. And this is coming from someone that likes her.
And thanks, but no thanks. I have free speech. Proud to be an American! This is congruent to books being banned in past times. Just not right.

@corinaldi EXACTLY IF THEY WANT SOMEONE THAT SHARES ELISABETH'S POINT OF VIEW AT LEAST HIRE ANOTHER CELEBRITY WITH A BRAIN - THERE ARE PLENTY TO CHOOSE FROM EVEN THOUGH BOTH PARTY'S ARE FULL OF SHIT
-
Can someone please tell me why Hasselbeck is still on this show?
-
@corinaldi whoopi goldberg left while it was airing just because ssomeone wouldn't agree with her

Barack could say hang whites and Sherri and Whoppi would find a way round it - thats the difference they can see no wrong in Barack and thats as dangerous as how Elizabeth thinks Bush can do no wrong - wake up America
-
This panel is the most hypocritical lot of women ever! If this was a conservative who said this, Joy and Sherri would have been screaming for his head on a stick. But because it was Obama, we should just accept his apology, it was in private so it doesn't really matter. We should be focusing on the way it's used in society and blah, blah, blah. Elisabeth was right. How you speak and the language you use when you think no one "important" is listening means more than anything.

@corinaldi I agree with Whoopi most of the time and really do agree she's a very intelligent woman. On the other hand, I disagree with Elizabeth almost 95% of the time as her extreme conservative views and blind support for Sarah Palin and George Bush really pisses me off. BUT she made the show more interesting. I mean let's face it. The group's discussion got heated up we could thank Elizabeth for that. Her views actually representaive many converstative people out there like her. She's an asset

"She should not have compared it to the N-word"....? Why not? Both are offensive regardless of the intent. When I was a kid it was slang to say, "We N-bomb-rigged it" in place of "Jury rigged it" when fixing something in a make shift manner on the farm. There was no mal intent. YET IT WAS AND IS WRONG!!! Same goes for the r-word.
Whoopi Goldberg is to intelligent for this show. Elisabeth Hasselbeck needs to be fired because she lacks the capability to think beyond her republican party views.

I think people should take this word as seriously as the N-word. I am of African decent, and my son has cerebral palsy. When kids at school call him the R-word, I can tell he feels hurt, worthless, and like he's a less person. Which is how I personally feel when I am called the N-word. I think this is serious. Other African Americans may not think so, but perhaps you would if you had to walk on crutches your entire life and couldn't play sports or run with your friends, then people made fun.
