A music video I made for my college Video1 class using Weird Al's "I Think I'm a Clone Now". I got pretty good at the editing to get myself into a scene twice. By the time I had finished it, I had finally gotten really good at the editing (which would have been more useful earlier, but would have caused a time paradox), and so I did my second video project on a documentary about "Clones on Campus!".

All of the clone scenes involved cropping using an 8-point matte (more is better!) and a LOT of key-framing, especially when I had to shift the cut location. I also had to key-frame changes in brightness, since I never figured out how to disable that stupid automatic brightness adjustment on the camera, which would then leave the two halves of the frame at different brightnesses, making the cut blatantly apparent.

  • wow how did u make the video i know how u stole it but your still cool and heroic

Stole whatnow? All footage was personally filmed and edited by myself. The music track was purchased and I'm fairly sure its use in the video constitutes "fair use" in countries other than germany.

Clone scenes were done by filming a scene twice (with a completely stationary camera) and then cutting the two halves together. I frequently used keyframing to have the cuts shift as one clone moved into the "zone" of the other.

  • I still love watching this one, Dave! Good times.

Thanks! It's nice to look back at the video and remember shooting the scenes and the hours spent in the video lab in the basement. All-nighters + Basement = NO PERCEPTION OF TIME

  • I assure you that Mr. Hinckley used only the finest quality Science in his role in this film. The colored liquid in the eye-dropper? That was a 0.5 molar solution of 99% pure SCIENCE. Powerful enough to create a fully grown human out of a hardboiled egg from the cafeteria.
