Jón Páll Sigmarsson and Geoff Capes battled for the title World Strongest Man for a few years. They were two good friends off the field but on the field they were animals.

Their second battle was in 1985 (for the title WSM 1984) in Mora in Sweden. The competition was held at a location where it was freezing and there was snow everywhere. For some of the strongmen these circumstances were new.

Jón Páll had trained hard before the competition and he beat Capes and Capes lost his crown.

Here we can see the competitors in the slay push and in the arm wrestling.

Competitors in WSM 1984:
Jón Páll Sigmarsson (Iceland), Ab Wolders (Netherlands), Geoff Capes (Britain), Rudolf Kuster (Germany), Dave Waddington (USA), Daniel Poulin (Canada), Yngve Gustavsson (Sweden) and Pius Ochieng (Kenya)

  • who won all the arm wrestling in the end????

  • Jón Páll gave away the final battle before it began. He had already won the title by a longshot. So Daniel Poulin from Canada won the arm wrestling

  • capes is a legend

  • look at that power in the end

  • 6:49 que biceps del tipo de amarillo

  • They are pure strenght, but they had no techinique at armwrestling at all. Besides Poulin, and maybe Capes and Sigmarsson

  • @Databamse Jon Pàll was very powerfull, but I think Magnus would defeat him.

  • It would have been fun to see magnus samuelsson (Former european arm wrestling champion and worlds strongest man in 1998) wrestle jon pall. Magnus have never lost a wrestle.

  • JON PALL LEGEND !!!

  • That's too bad about your uncle tootall. I saw this event many years ago and it was one of the reasons I got into competitve armwrestling. The way Daniel Poulin toyed with a guy who seemed to be in better shape. It always stuck with me. I remember it well. I actually think of it sometimes. I never knew your uncle but in a way, he inspired me too. I'm sorry to hear that he passed away. .. "You and I take a match?" .. "No." .."Why?" .. "He gives up. You win." .. That was classic.

  • oh excellent le parler canadien cousin !!!
