@KUSTOMJUSTIN1 i have a the same year 24v did the same thing but put a full on cold air intake from afe it seemed to be a little better as far as boost and sound but got about 2.5- 3.0 mpg gain u should try it see what u think

@valymic21 yes you can. an no it doesnt hurt anything, its simply free hp your jus letting more air in. and the whistle comes from spiraling air

Hello. I have a question: my car is a VW Bora from 2001, and it has a 1,9 TDi with 116 hp engine; can I do the same operation you did to your turbo on my car's turbo? Will the engine or turbo be affected in any kind? And also to mention: my turbo(i think) is allready making a slight wistle when i'm accelerating, at about 1400 rpm's up. Please reply,I'm curious. Yea well top this..07 5.9 took off the silencer ring..gained a hell of a whisle..8+mpg..tire tread life increased a lot..rides so smooth now..best thing..I grew 4 inches taller after I removed the turbo silencer ring..I highly recommend everyone to do this

@ridemx250f no it shouldnt, actually it might be better, as he mentioned you get more air flow, and the turbo without the silencer does sound quite nice when it rolling down the street
