This Toyota Avalon repair saved 2 wire harnesses at a cost of over $1500 each. Combined with labor cost would have totaled the vehicle. Cost effective repair alternative

  • Hey I'm doing the same thing on a 2007 Corolla, I have the car down to frame if the wire harnes is pretty bad can I still pull out and repair it.

  • @RalphdaCuban - Price the damaged looms new or used and let that determine the value of the time it will take to repair it. You can fix anything with enough time and patience. I have built looms for cars that were unavailable; where the value of the car exceeded the labor and materials.

  • 4 days worth of repair! It takes verifycation of every inch of every wire or its all for nothing..

  • @shopken1 Ok bud yep i made up my mind I going to do it I labeled everything and marked all the connectors. I do have some harness connectors that melted together so should I just cut those out and splice together. I'm a A&P tech so be as technical as you like to explain, thanks a bunch for the info not many people that would even think of doing something like this.

  • Thats way more patience than I have!
