I"m not sure how speaking against reparations is racist. What about the Native Americans? What about the Japenese-Americans in intern camps during WWII? And if Glenn Beck is a racist for calling someone else a racist, then does that make Carter a racist?

The cry is tired, old, and pathetic. Yes, it exists. It was not appropriate to bring up when disagreeing with policy. There is little evidence. Strike that. No evidence.

@HugeJohn51 are you joking? You must not have a grasp for what our constitutional federalism entails. Where does one even begin? Net Neutrality is the latest, how about there? Cyber Securities Act? Forget what you ignore (which is Obama continued and expanded upon Bush-era violations of privacy), how about looking into requirements and regulations under the PPACA? And if it's Bush-like intrusions you fear most, check out his Council of Governors. We'll ignore all marketplace intrusions for now.

@HugeJohn51 Beside the fact that Obama supported and is continuing each and every one of those "neocon" policies, what K is talking about is the attempt to silence dissent (i.e. freedom of expression) by attaching it to a charge that used to mean something but is used to silence others now. But, you asked about freedoms eroding under Obama, think about it this way: any action the federal government takes is one less action reserved to the states or to the people.

You guys here are so ignorant and steeped in US mythology it is scary. In any other western democracy Obama would be considered a Conservative. I know it seems hard believe because the NeoCons shifted US politics so far to the right, but that's reality. I love guys like you that all of the sudden are worried about your 'freedoms' while Bush suspends Habeas Corpus, and enacts the Patriot Act which shreds your constitutional rights to privace. Which freedoms do you think Obama is taking away?
