carnaticopia, isnt it 'KALiya nartanam'???? the serpent KAliya on which sreekrishna performed nartanam?? if i am wrong what is KALINga??

Good point. The composer, Venkatasubbaiyar, called the composition Kalinga nartanam. Lord Krishna's legend is from Mathura (North India). My guess is, the verbal/written Tamil texts at the time referred to the snake Kaliya, as Kalinga. Anyone else with a better answer?
