@jwang604 I do not agree with the modern unions but the men and women who formed early unions were not loafers. They worked over 12 hours a day in bad conditions with low pay.

Those is the U.S., remember what President Reagan did when the air traffic controllers went on strike? He gave them 48 hours to report to work, and anyone who did not was fired! That is what should have happened here!
