Natural Selection Murphy.wmv

Natural selection is the process by which species evolve. Mrs. Murphy's grade 11 Biology class recently did an experiment where they used various utensils such as forks, spoons and knives to simulate birds' beaks. They used these to "gather" food (beans and peas) and discovered that some "birds" are more suited to gathering large amounts of nutrients than others based on the size of their beaks. They did this video to document their success in learning and also as part of a contest by Pearson Publishing in order to win a class set of textbooks!! Wish us luck!!
