I have 10 acres of lawn or field whatever you want to call it.
If I was a better gardener I would work the land unfortunately the soil quality is not the best here and I have to figure out how to correct it organically. There has not been any pesticides or harmful chemicals used here ever. Last 25 years can guarantee it since that is how long I have had it.

john, can you imagine the chaos if the grocery trucks stopped rolling. you would be in fair shape, that is if you could protect your property from looters. i on the other hand don't have enough planted to feel real comfortable, but i do have the knowledge to garden. for the most part i feel that 90% or more people in urban environments would be screwed. it's amazing how over the past few decades self reliance has became a lost art.

in front of rocket man, it looks like asparagus.
show us your fivefinger shoes, do you like them? more and more of my raw buddies are getting them, I'm getting some any day now in the mail.... can't wait.
thanks for the tour!

John, You asked for ideas to help spread the idea of front-lawn farming... how about contests? Get local nurseries to sponsor local garden clubs, etc.? It would take some reinventing in each town, but could help spread the grassroots (pun semi-intended) effort.

why would anyone go to los angeles unless forced to for business. it is a good place to be from.. i wish i had a median, i would rip it up although most cities prohibit that. reminds me why i live in northern california. thanks for the tour

@growingyourgreens Wow. That's weird. They seem to crave publicity.

@growingyourgreens I know that area well. I actually hope to move out of california for good one day. I'm thinking eastern Oregon, Washington or Idaho. Whatever G-d wills.

@growingyourgreens, Oh I'm so sorry. That would've been great but keep doing what you're doing. We're with you!!!

Maybe give seedlings away next season? Ask for donations maybe and then grow them and give them away!
John, could you visit the Dervae Family? That would be an awesome video and great experience to swap ideals!!!

That was the tomatomania eposide. Determinite and Indeterminate varities. Determinate only grow (and produce) for a determined amount of time.

Looks like you were in the Westside like around the Santa Monica area. Am I right? I live 40 miles east of there in the San Gabriel Valley.
