Evasive bluster from Boris with added grumpiness when his attempts to distract with humour failed. An odious man who hides behind his 'loveable buffoon' charade. Although, the 'buffoon' part might be genuine.

Excellent grilling from Jenny Jones. If Londoners want cleaner air, safer roads, etc. she's a better choice for mayor.

For a man whose stated priority of his transport policy is to "ease the flow of traffic" through London (not to increase use of public transport or walking or cycling), who wants to suspend the low emission zone and who decreased the congestion zone to claim to be sincerely trying to reduce pollution in London is an insult to every Londoner. I have never once seen him answer a question properly at these events, he's a disgrace. Not so funny now is he London?

there are 30ish, traffic AIR QUALITY TEST MONITORING STATIONS (run by the KINGS COLLEGE)of which the data is required by law to EU. its not me who has got his facts wrong.

you need to see LONDON AIR dot ORG and look at the facts. Boris's CMA is planned to be sprayed at FAILED (AQTM) Stations.

@neiallswheel - Well until technology catches up with low emission transport & industry it looks like this is one of the better options they are trialling along with the "regular" bus/train/car steps they are pursuing. Incidentally I think you have your facts mixed up - the borough air quality data isn't reported to EU, only data from the national network is reported so it's not trying to fake the London air quality stations.

@noodlesaudigolf doubt is not really an arguement. More chemicals mean MORE money on MORE industrial energy use and MORE pollution. this is a mask for a revolting lie. You do realise, this CMA is just to FOOL the AIR QUALITY measuring stations deployed around LONDON, avoiding E.U.fines for pollution. The Low Emission Zone also is ONLY a revenue raiser. No policies for true GREEN VEHICLES and no proper testing (or benefits) either. Its another Mask, no genuine clean air policies

@noodlesaudigolf how is washing the streets going to save water? boris said WATER but admitted it contained CALCIUM MAGNESIUM ACETATE.which is another chemical we DONT need (more tax payers money on rubbish legislation ), to HIDE THE FACT that current mayor/government policy on vehicle pollutants are SO INADEQUATE boris is trying to add CMA into the River Thames and FAKE the AIR data What a crock of shit. No up-to-date comprehensive EMISSIONS TESTING?

@neiallswheel The CMA appears to be added at very low concentrations so I doubt it would have any significant impact.
