  • I think the recording of Richter playing all 4 Scherzi in one his recitals in Hungary (I believe in the mid 60's) is one of the best sets ever recorded. The more I listen to Richter, the more I am impressed. When I hear new things upon each listening, I know I am in the presence of true greatness.

Great notion! Speaks highly about your own abilities!

  • Oh i found it! Recorded in tokyo, 1976-77.

  • From which recording is it? Please reply!!!!!

  • @juiceforjoe This statement means nothing. R. was a reputable pianist, so at least you must say WHY it is not good. Or, if you know nothing about music you can say "I don´t like it". No one can argue about that. Actualy, I am not particularly fan of R., however, this is a great performance! I can´t believe this is Richter. One thing I don´t like about him (among others) is his strange feeling for tempos. But here is everything just perfect+.

  • @juiceforjoe

Have you thought about different plausible scenario? For example, performance is great but critic has no idea about what's "good" and what's not... You know, just a possibility...

  • This is the best interpretation of this scherzo I've hear thus far :) So lovely

  • Ah ! I'm so much relieved by this velvety interpretation ! Gracious yet powerful. Delicate tone, mellow and rich colours !

Shame on the others ! Shame on you Blechacz, shame on you Yundi Li and all the other youngsters for playing machine gun and not piano !

Your marvellous interpretation, Mr. Richter, regenerates my ears and fulfills my heart with rapture. Thanks.

  • genius : ))
