The treatment of Dog Ear Infections
Dog ear infections may not be life-threatening, but they can pose serious long-term damages to a dog's hearing capabilities. The dog's ears have three sections namely: the outer ear, middle ear and lastly the inner ear. It is the outer ear that gets easily infected. Most infections occur when there is so much moisture or dampness on the ear canal. When this occurs, bacteria and yeast infection thrive the most. The dog's ears are not designed for water to get drained easily. What happens is that water or particles get stuck inside the ear canal and this often results to an ear infection. You may need to frequently check you dog's ears for any signs of inflammation or redness. If there is a foul smelling discharge coming out of the dog's ears then that is already an ear infection. Treatment is highly recommended.
