Yeah, McDonalds said they hired foreigners, so I called them, and they were so happy and asked me to come to an interview (probably thought I was Korean). Then when I told them my name, they heard I was a westerner from my name, and they cancelled my interview. I totally understand where you are coming from.

You need a 4 year degree to be able to get a VISA to live in Japan.

@japanman33 Usually, but there are loop holes. For instance, if you marry a Japanese person, you are legally entitled to work in Japan (any job). You could also tranfer from a western company to their Japan branch...kind of rare/difficult though.
