Yes, very friendly. He had been handled for 18 years. However, cobras tend to be easily annoyed and quick to strike, Gopal has been bitten many times, though he has developed a tolerance for the venom, so he only gets sick instead of dying.

Strangely, I didn't feel fear while I was holding the snake.

Devenomed or not, the snake was friendly. It acted just like my pet king snakes used to. And it seemed like it was trying to get back to Gopal the whole time, which speaks to an interesting relationship between them. Very cool!

The snake seems comfortable with you,, and you, enthused, alert, calm, respectful, centered joyous... and the man delighted to share what he could of his story and your good energy. particulars may have been lost in translation but there is deep communication happening here twixt humans and with the cobra. marvelous!

Its not a king cobra. probably just a spectacled cobra and it looks so weak cuz the snake charmers force feed them chicken eggs. thats the reason why you didn't get bit. do not take the risk next time by holding one unless you are with a snake expert not a charmer.

Sylvia..Nice video..But Gopal has hardly understood you for half of interview!!! But I did not expect even that!!!!! I appreciate that he knew even that much English..
