Carsland Construction Progress (03/06/11) @ Disneyland Disney California Adventure DCA Cars Land is a new land at Disney California Adventure that is currently under construction. This 12-acre (49,000 m2) land will be built as part of the recently announced $1 billion expansion plan for DCA on what is now the Timon Parking Lot behind the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and A Bug's Land. Cars Land is inspired by the 2006 Disney·Pixar film, Cars. This land will have new dining and shopping venues as well as new attractions. One will be a major "E-ticket" attraction called Radiator Springs Racers [which will feature the third-generation Test Track technology, an attraction located at Epcot in Walt Disney World. Two other family attractions will be built as well, Luigi's Roamin' Tires and Tow Mater's Junkyard Jamboree. Luigi's Roamin' Tires is a ride system similar to the old Disneyland Flying Saucers attraction.

Radiator Springs Racers is a planned attraction currently under construction that will be part of Cars Land at Disney's California Adventure. The attraction will feature third-generation Test Track technology, an attraction located at Epcot in Walt Disney World. Radiator Springs Racers will be themed to the world of the Disney·Pixar 2006 movie Cars.

The attraction will take guests in a six-person vehicle through a briefing with characters from the movie Doc and Lighting McQueen. Suddenly, guests will find themselves in the middle of a race which includes hairpin turns and steep banks with guests eventually racing another guest vehicle with random race results.

The attraction, along with the rest of the Disney's California Adventure multi-year expansion, was announced on October 17, 2007. However, the first indication of the attraction and the new land was some concept art published in the Dreaming section of The Walt Disney Company's 2006 annual report.

The attraction will be the most expensive to be built in the entire Disneyland Resort, one of the most expensive attractions Disney has ever built, and one of the most expensive theme park attractions in the world at an estimated cost of over $200 million.

A C-Ticket attraction in the style of a whip ride and The Mad Tea Party, in Disneyland, without spinning out of control. This Attraction is themed to Mater's Junkyard and also the fields with tractor cows from the 2006 film Cars. Mater will be the Master of Ceremonies of the Jamborie. Your vehicles will be tractors with pull cars attached to them that move around with the music.

This attraction will be an updated and safer version of the original Disneyland attraction Disneyland Flying Saucers and will feature the distinct theming of the movie Cars.

I haven't been to DL Ca since 1993. But will definitely plan a trip once Cars Land, Mermaid, etc are open. Looking forward to this.
